Kinnaur , Tourism in India

Kinnaur Attractions : Kalpa , Recong Peo , Sangla Valley , Chitkul , Sarahan , Nichar , Kothi , Chango , Morang , Nako , Pooh , Rakchham , Lippa , etc . Kinnaur is  a beautiful district of Himachal Pradesh .
Kalpa
It is situated at a distance of14 km from Powari. The altitude is 2759 m . The place offers some fantastic early morning views of the Kinner Kailash. The local people say that  Kalpa is the winter abode of Shiva and all the god of Kinnaur assemble before him for an annual conference. Lord Dalhousie frequently visited  Kalpa for its natural beauty.




Recong Peo
The place is situated at a distance of 260 km from Shimla. The height of the beautiful  mountain town is 2200 m. The town is surrounded by the Kinner Kailash ranges which are considered extremely sacred by the people. From Recong Peo, the view of the snow covered Kinner Kailash is simply breathtaking. Dalai Lama carried out a 'Kalchakra' ceremony in 1992 at the latest built Gompa, which is also an attraction here.


Sangla Valley
The charming valley is also known as Baspa valley as the river Baspa flows through it. The tourists can have the  magnificent views of the Kinner Kailash peak, wonderful saffron fields and relaxing alpine meadows. You may also visit  Kamru Fort  and the Kamakshi Temple. Kamru Fort is the erstwhile bastion of the Rajas of the Rampur and Bushehr State .Kamakshi Temple is the place where the coronation ceremony of these Rajas were usually conducted. The valley offers magnificent views of the hills .

Chitkul
It is the highest village of the Sangla Valley at an altitude of 3450.  It is the trade route between India and Tibet. The terrain is still  tough  for trekking. One may look at the people of Chitkul will conform this connection with Tibet. The looks of these people as well as the jewelleries they wear reminds of the Tibetan influence.


Sarahan
The village is situated at a distance of  95 km from Sangla . The village is dominated by the imposing Shrikhand peak in the background. Within the village itself, the highlight is the exotic Bhimakali Temple. The magnificence of the five storeyed temple is exemplary.
Nichar
The village is attractive for its charming surrounding beauty . Ghoral, Antelopes, Black & Red Bears are found here occasionally.



Kothi
This village is also known as Koshtampi. This village is dominated by the peaks of the Kinner Kailash. The main attraction of the village is the Shuwang Chandika' temple. The natural beauty of the village attracts many tourists here.
Pooh
The other name is Spuwa . It  is situated around 58 km from Powari. The attraction here are the vineyards, apricot, almond and grapes orchard.
Rakchham
The height of the place is 2900 m.  Rakchham is famous for its beautiful location at the banks of river Baspa. Rakchham itself means stone (Rak) bridge (Chham).
Lippa
It is located at the height of  2745 m. It is well known for three Buddhist monasteries. These are dedicated to Galdang, Chhoiker Dunguir and Kangyar. Moreover, the nearby forest is also said to house the Ibex. Lippa can be reached from Kalpa by the old Hindustan-Tibet road.
Nako Lake
Nako
Nako is the highest village in the Hangrang Valley of Himachal Pradesh. The main attraction here is a lake formed out of the melting of ice and snow. Temples dedicated to local deities are also attractive to the tourists.
Morang
The  small village is situated on the left bank of river Satluj.  You reach it passing through apricot orchards. Three structures dedicated to the local goddess Urmig are also the main attractions. The ark of the deity is usually placed in the fort, which  on an auspicious day is taken to these structures. The ark itself has got 18 'mukh' representing the 18 days of the great epic Mahabharat. The 'mukhs' are made of silver, gold and brass. It attracts many pilgrims
Chango
The four hamlets on the left bank of Spiti are located here . Surrounded by hills on all sides, the natural beauty in Chango is enchanting. The mixed culture of Buddhists and Hindu is also an unique character of this place. Kinnaur attracts many tourists in Himachal Pradesh.

Taj Mahal

Golden Temple

The Golden Temple or Sri Harmandir Sahib or Sri Darbar Sahib, is situated in Amritsar, Punjab. Built by Guru Arjan Sahib, the temple is visited by thousands of devotees throughout the year.

Victoria Memorial ( KOLKATA )

How to Reach- By Train-Mysore is connected with a number of trains to Bangalore. The super fast luxury train the Shatabdi Express connects Mysore to Madras. The quickest and most comfortable way to reach Mysore is via Bangalore.

By Air - The nearest airport to Mysore is Bangalore (139 km). By Road -Mysore is 139kms to the south west of Bangalore, well connected with rest of India.
