Champhai, Mizoram Tourism

Champhai Attractions : Lianchhiari Lunglen Tlang , Thasiama Seno Neihna , Manghaia Lung , Fiara Tui , Kungawrhi Puk (cave) , Tiau Lui (River) , Rih Dil (Lake) , etc. Champhai is a beautiful district of MIJORAM.
Thasiama Seno Neihna
This is a beautiful plateau  ideal for trekking. It is situated at Vaphai, a village about 86 kms. Away from Champhai. According to the local people  the plateau is the site where Thasiama`s Mithun used to calf, considered impossible for a Mithun to climb even today. However, legend tells us that Thasiama had an affairs with a beautiful Fairy named Chawngtinleri and that the Fairy had bestowed him a gift that his Mithun will multiply and make him prosperous. The Fairy guided Thasiama`s Mithun to this hill for safe delivery and guarded it against the onslaught of tigers that haunted the area.



Lianchhiari Lunglen Tlang

It has a huge cliff protruding from a mountain.This is legendary where the lovers like  Lianchhiari used to search  for Chawngfianga. This place is frequently visited by the  tribal population, encouraging them to weave out sweet love-lores around the cliff. This cliff is situated at 64 kms south of Champhai on the way to Khawbung.

Manghaia Lung

It is a Memorial Stone with engravings of a series of human figures, supposed to be guardians of the dead. You will find smaller stone creations with pictures of animals engraved beside this structure .

Fiara Tui
 Fiara Tui is located at 65 kms distance from Champhai. The source of this water is Tan tlang (mountain). According to legend the local people had to go miles for drinking water. One day  the only son of a poor window, happened to turn a flat stone and  found a crystal clear source of water. This was kept a secret by the widow and her son. Later it became popular to the local community.

Rih Dil (Lake) It is  beautiful heart shaped lake believed to be the passage of the Souls to their eternal abode. The lake is situated at a 22 kms distances inside Myanmar. The lake is 1 km. Long and 70 meters. Wide. The lake  has no external inflow or outflow of water. But the water is constantly clear and has invoked many interesting folk-tales.
 Kungawrhi Puk (cave)
It is  a deep and wide gaping hole on the side of hill  believed to be the entrance of an underground village inhabited by the spirits. You can reach the cave during a  day excursion from Champhai to Farkawn village.

Tiau Lui (River)
The legendary river Tiau is located at  the boundary between India and Myanmar. It is the main place for crossing border from both sides. It is now famous as a a commercial center, where all kinds of imported goods are available. Champhai is one of the major tourist destinations in MIJORAM.

Taj Mahal

Golden Temple
