Bhaitbari : It is a small village in West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya. Located on the southern bank of the river Jinjiram, the village is close to the Goalpara District of Assam. Recently some Archeological findings have made this place important . It has unearthed planned places of worship with designed masonry oil lamps. The place has immense importance in Archeological point of view and historical importance . It explores the early culture of North East India. The place is standing on the riverside of Jinjiram .
Tura Peak : It is one of the major peaks of the Tura range. The most important attraction of the Tura Peak in Meghalaya is a fantastic view of plains of Bangladesh and Brahmaputra Velly. The peak is at 872 meter above the sea-level. Local people believe that God 'Dura' lived here. British mistook the name as Tura. It is a great attraction to the tourists and adventurers . A Tourist Bungalow, an Observatory and a Cinchona plantation are located at Tura Peak.
Nokrek National Park, or Nokrek Biosphere Reserve, is a national park located Approximately 12 km from Tura Peak in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, India. It stands at the 1412 metres above sea level. The mother germo plasm of Citrus-indica were discovered by science researchers within Nokrek Range. Later National Citrus Gene Sanctuary-cum-Biosphere Reserve was established at Nokrek covering an area of forty-seven square kilometres. Wild elephants, rare varieties of birds and pheasants are found here besides rare orchids abound in the sanctuary.
Mir Jumla’s Tomb
Mir Jumla was appointed as Governor of Bengal during 1659 by Augangzeb. He invaded Assam. But hostile land and malaria resisted the Mughal army to capture all. He retreated during 1663. But on his return to Bengal he died for malaria near Mankachar in Garo Hills. He was buried here and a tomb built on his honour.
Darga of Hazrat Shah Kamal Baba
It is located at Indo-Bangla frontier, alongside the Dalu -Mahendraganj-Mankachar border road, stands The Darga Sharif of Hazrat Shah Kamal Baba, popularly known as Pirsthan. A prayer-mela (fair) is held at the Pristhan every year since past The pilgrims come to the Pristhan for annual prayer and offering with faith and hope.People believe that their prayers will be fulfilled .
Kata Beel
It is located near Nogorpara village in West Garo Hills district. It is about 73 kms off Tura on the Tura-Garobadha-Ampatigiri-Mahendraganj road. This pond was dug according to the order of Lengta Raja of the Garos. The beautiful, soothing waters of Kata Beel covers about one hectare of area. The palm trees have surrounded this pond .
Rongbang Dare
This sprightly fall though perennial, is at its best during the monsoon months. it is situated on Tura Williamnagar road. Clustered on either side by vast evergreen hills of bamboos, which sway rhythmically in the wind, the fall itself appears to be on the sway, leaving the viewer with memories of ecstatic joy.
Sasatgre
The place is located at the Nokrek peak, in the West Garo Hills district, The distinguishing feature of this village is that although all the houses are built in the typical Garo Pattern and design, they are spacious, airy, well-built and firm. The winds of development, change and prosperity have not changed the way of life of the Sasatgre villagers and they continue to be the repository of undiluted Garo custom, culture and convention
The village now falls on the periphery of the Nokrek Gene Sanctuary-cum-Biosphere Reserve.
Asanangre
It is located at the junction of the Williamnagar-Tura State highway, Asanangre is a fairly large Garo village where the headquarters of the Rongram Community & Rural development block is located. It is also the venue of the annual Hundred drum Wangala Dance festival which has become a popular tourist attraction.
Arbella Peak
The peak is atv999 meters above sea level stands on the north-eastern flank of Tura . The hilly range is known as Arbella Range and the peak as Arbella Peak. You can drive your car through deeply forested glades, full of shrubs and orchids of unparalleled beauty to the Peak . Wildfowl and pheasants of exciting plumage and colour abound, besides birds of all sizes and variety making the place an idyllic resort of natural joy. A small rest house was built by the British Colonialist, a century ago. The hilly ranges of Meghalaya still attract may adventurous tourists.
